The very nice people currently sponsoring me are……

The boys from Hanoi-based Explore Indochina are kitting me out with a super- pimped Honda C90 to ride the Ho Chi Minh Trail on. Since these are the chaps who built all the bikes for the Top Gear Vietnam Special and did the consultancy for World’s Most Dangerous Roads in Vietnam and Laos, I’m in good hands.

I’ll be donning supersonic Weise motorbike kit as I zoom down the Ho Chi Minh Trail in the Spring of 2013. The Bristol-based masters of motorbike gear are sponsoring me with an Airspin Evo jacket, Dakar off-road gloves, Uglyfish glasses and a super lightweight Duchinni 2012 Stealth D1 X-Pro Carbon Helmet. All are specially formulated for sweaty jungle-like temperatures, and should prevent me from becoming a boil-in-the-bag-biker.

The lovely folk at Stanfords in Bristol have kindly donated a cornucopia of maps and books to my last few escapades. Most recently they’ve kitted me out with an assortment of Southeast Asian tomes, maps and phrasebooks.

Puncturesafe very kindly provide me with their magic puncture-prevention kit for my adventures. Having driven thousands of puncture-free km by tuk tuk and Honda C90 with the help of this amazing stuff, I wouldn’t consider leaving home without it.

I know gin and motorbikes might not appear the likeliest of bedfellows; but what could be more vital at the end of a long day’s ride than a cooling G&T? Hence I shall be squeezing a handful of bottles of the fabulous Boxer Gin into my panniers and stirring up a juniper storm in the jungle.
